About You

You will be the first AE hire at Status, working directly with the founding team and outbound BDRs to own and manage prospects from first demo to close. This takes a special type of entrepreneurial mindset, one that finds ways to hit targets and goals when the “how to get there” is not abundantly clear. You are someone who wants to be part of achieving major revenue milestones for the first time and have a hunger to win.

Early stage sales is not for the faint of heart, so if you are looking for a CRM full of warm leads and a team of marketers enabling your process, then this is not your role. If you are looking to pair your proven track record with a strategic opportunity to shape how a startup qualifies sales opportunities and closes new accounts, then this could be the sales career accelerator you are looking for.  

You love speaking with potential customers, demo-ing product and asking poignant qualification questions. You are a fantastic listener who takes notes so that you can refine your message and methods for future prospects. You are a process-minded person who holds yourself accountable to goals and deadlines. You are also someone who works well with a team and can take ownership of sales process improvements without having to be told what to do.

What You’ll Do

- Successfully manage sales pipeline and close new business 

- Qualify potential sales opportunities from meetings that the BDR team sets, and manage next steps and important milestones to close customers 

- Demo the Status product and quickly identify if prospects have an urgent pain point that we can solve

- Become an expert storyteller of the Status value proposition and how it will help our customers

- Strategically develop pipeline management methods with the founders to help refine our sales cycle and closing strategies

- Continually refine and test messaging and sales methodologies, proactively reporting on your results and findings

- Assist in developing materials or documentation that can be used to help prospects during the sales process

- Support the development and training of new AE hires, willfully sharing best practices and offering coaching

What We Look For

- 1-2 years of relevant Account Executive sales experience (bonus for experience in SaaS, but not a requirement)

- Tenacious hunger and competitive edge to win new business and close deals

- A skilled verbal communicator: a direct, clear and a respectful approach to conversation with cold/warm leads

- Excellent, clear and concise written communication skills 

- Always looking to take action, understanding that consistent activity in sales will build strong and qualified pipeline

- Ability to work well by yourself, not afraid to take action and learn before waiting for help

- A no ego teammate: we want you to be aggressive and confident, but we do not tolerate high ego individuals. Teamwork and the ability to take feedback and coaching is key.
