ClientSuccess Acquires Status to Merge the Worlds of Customer Success and Onboarding
Lehi, UT – November 1, 2023 – Today at Status we announced that we’ve been acquired by ClientSuccess, a leading Customer Success platform. This strategic move - the first acquisition of a dedicated onboarding solution in the Customer Success Platform space - marks a significant step in both the Status and ClientSuccess mission to deliver not just extraordinary experiences for customers, but also a comprehensive suite of offerings for customer success teams everywhere.
Status (f.k.a. Hivewire) Origin Story & Mission
Our founding journey began nearly five years ago. Having spent over a decade in custom relational database software, we set out to build the next generation of no and low-code tooling (formerly known as Hivewire). Our mission was to help teams build internal tools that increased productivity and improved customer outcomes without the time or cost of traditional development. We saw great success with that product and partnered with customers in various industries and use cases. Our Hivewire time was cherished as some of the best professional and founding team experience we could ever hope for.
Among the many early use cases Hivewire served, one use case in particular kept coming up - customer onboarding. Over and over, we saw the market pulling us into this workflow as customer success and post-sales teams did not have what they truly needed to manage complex customer-facing implementations. They were adopting what we had, sticking on the product, and asking for more.
That is when Status was born. While Hivewire was able to flex to needs in this use case, it wasn't purpose-built for those onboarding workflows. We had ambitions to build an amazing product from the ground up for this new customer onboarding user, one that allowed them to quickly spin up a comprehensive workflow without having to spend weeks customizing the workflow (something no and low-code tools often require). We rebranded, re-tooled and built Status, officially offering our new product earlier this year. Our modern and innovative approach to customer portals, project automations and delightful end user experiences led to great success with many customers and brought us to where we are today. We are forever grateful for these early customer partnerships.
